Today here in Italy is Cat Day and I can’t help dedicating a page to them.
Cats are wonderful beings, all animals are, of course, but I have always had a particular attraction for these four-legged wads with soft fur and big eyes.
The first cat gave me a gift of herself when I was still a teenager, my Desy, a Siamese cat, who accompanied me for 13 long years. She was found on a late summer afternoon, perched on a low wall: it all happened in an instant! I noticed her, I was literally struck by the blue color of her big eyes and from there it was love forever <3
Then it was the turn of Serafino, a foundling with golden eyes saved by an Angel who found him on the street almost dying and took care of him, giving him a new life. Now he is there and he enjoys chasing lizards and sunbathing, full of life.
Lady, my Comet Star, my kitten with whom a beautiful relationship was born: she was adorable, affectionate, intelligent and fast as few cats can be, but her fate took her away from me too soon, I didn’t have time to love her as I wanted <3
Fumo, a brave little puppy who showed up at the front door one autumn day, determined to want to be part of a family. And he succeeded! He gave me his company for a long month and now he is with a family who surely love and take care of him.
Finally, Coffee and Birra, my endless loves <3
Two brothers from the same litter who entered my life two years ago and who still make it wonderful today: with their purring, with their nocturnal raids throughout the house, with their warmth when, in the evening, on my legs, they fall asleep with me.
It is impossible to imagine a life without them.
Cats are example creatures, their way of life reminds us how important is the present moment: unlike humans, they don’t live in the past and do not care about the future, they are always in the present moment; very affectionate but independent, it is mistakenly believed that cats are opportunists; the truth is that, if you wanna love a cat, you have to be like them, you must have a strong, independent character and give unconditional love, without expecting anything in return.
I strongly believe that living with an animal at home is the most wonderful and fulfilling thing there can be, because animals love us and teach us to love.
